2023 Giving Tuesday

Give to CRS for increased peace in your community

Choosing where to give this year can be tough, but we appreciate you considering CRS.

Who we are

Conflict Resolution Services partners with courts, organizations, and individuals to provide a means for individuals and businesses to resolve disputes outside of the court room. In turn, this helps to reduce the burdens on the courts and create more peaceful communities.

Conflict Resolution Services serves Grand Traverse, Antrim, Leelanau, Wexford, Missaukee, and Benzie counties by providing low- and no-cost mediation services to individuals in dispute. Last year, CRS handled 773 cases, compared to 271 in 2021. So far, the center has already handled 990 cases in 2023! Give Now!

Mediation

CRS strives to make mediation available to every individual who seeks our service, regardless of their ability to pay.

Did you know that approximately 1 out of 3 parties qualifies to have their mediation fees waived through the CRS fee waiver policy?

Technology

But waiving fees is just one expense the organization faces. The technology used to provide access to mediation wherever a party might be located is expensive. The organization spends thousands of dollar a year on virtual meeting, electronic signature, and communication software. But virtual meetings are important for the individuals we serve. It helps working families take less time off work and eliminate travel expenses associated with in-person mediations.

Training

Each CRS mediator must be trained through a Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Office (SCAO) approved 40-hour training program before they can mediate. In addition, SCAO requires each mediator to take an additional 8-hours in additional training every year. In exchange for a mediator committing to volunteering for the center, the center covers the cost of their training.

The organization spends thousands of dollars every year training mediators. Give Now!

Office Expenses

And these are just a few examples of the major expenses facing the organization every year. Everyday expenses like telephone, internet, electricity, and heating and cooling also add up to thousands a year.

Please consider donating to support Conflict Resolution Services to ensure we can continue providing our valuable services in the communities we serve.
