I have over 20 years experience as a domestic mediator. I have 7 grown children and am very familiar with the impact of divorce / separation on minor children.
I have been mediating as a volunteer through Conflict Resolution Services after being certified in Domestic Mediation through Resolution Services Center in Lansing, Michigan June of 2022. I have also completed the Level 1 training in Kingian Nonviolence through On Earth Peace. I see mediation as a creative way for people to have a say in resolving their own conflicts. It gives each party the opportunity to speak respectfully and to be heard with the help of a neutral listener.
As the director of Conflict Resolution Services, I have gained much experience as a mediator in a very short amount of time. I started mediating in 2021 and am now trained in Domestic Relations, General Civil, Elder Care, Behavioral Health and Special Education Mediation.
My degrees in communication and business provide me with a solid foundation of knowledge to help parties in a variety of situations find common ground to resolve their disputes.
31 year local business owner, CPA, retired. Mediating with CRS for about 1 year
I provide resolution focused mediator services to parties in litigation and non-litigation disputes, to help them achieve mutually agreed settlements.
After 35 years as General Counsel and lead Litigation Counsel for several major companies, and more recently as an Attorney Magistrate for the 86th District Court, I now focus my practice on mediation of civil cases and Elder/Adult Guardianship disputes.
During my in-house practice and as a mediator, I have mediated hundreds of contract, real estate, landlord/tenant, debt collection, labor, employment, product liability, personal injury, elder/adult guardianship and other complex civil cases. As an Attorney Magistrate, I also heard Small Claims cases, and conducted Landlord/Tenant Pretrials for the 86th District Court. I also volunteer as a mediator for Conflict Resolution Services in Traverse City, and Northern Community Mediation in Petoskey, and I am listed as a civil mediator for Michigan’s 13th, 28th, 33rd and 46th Circuit Courts.
I conduct in person and virtual mediations, and mediations using the Michigan Supreme Court’s on-line “MI-Resolve” program. All mediations are conducted under the Michigan Standards of Conduct for Mediators. I am a member of the Michigan and Illinois Bar Associations. I graduated from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law, where I serve on the Alumni Board of Directors, and received my bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
