Conflict Resolution Services keeps mediation costs low by charging only administrative fees. Trained volunteers conduct all mediations.

Our Policies

No one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.

The Executive Director has the authority to lower or waive fees on a per case basis.

Fees must be paid or other arrangements made at least 48 hours prior to mediation.

CRS reserves the right to determine whether a case is appropriate for mediation based on information reported during intake and mediation.

Credit/Debit cards and Paypal/Venmo are accepted with an additional $10 processing fee.

Fee Waiver/Reduction

Individuals may be charged a reduced rate or have their fees completely waived based on:

• a current MI Bridge Card in the mediation participant’s name.
• the participant’s prior year’s federal income tax filing relative to the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
• the use of a pro bono attorney, including Legal Services of Northern Michigan.

Our Fees

Mediation

Small Claims – sessions lasting less than 1 hour.

• No fee if ordered by local court.
• Non-refundable administrative fee of $50 per party if self referred.

General Civil, Domestic, Eldercare, Agriculture etc. – more complex issues; higher monetary values; divorce or custody issues;

• Non-refundable administrative fee of $125.00 per party
• $250 no-show fee billed to party that does not appear.
• $50 cancellation fee charged to each party if canceled with less than 48-hours notice.

Real Estate

• No cost to parties if referred by ASPIRE North. Otherwise General Civil rates apply.

Behavioral Health – disputes between patient and Community Mental Health.

• No cost
• Cases must be started by calling 1-844-3-MEDIATE or completing the request services form.

Special Education – disputes between families and schools.

• No cost
• Cases must be started by calling 833-KIDS-1ST or completing the request services form.

Other Services

Conference Room Rental

• $100 for up to 4 hours.
• $50 fee if canceled with less than 48-hours notice.

Meeting Facilitation

• Fees do NOT apply to special education facilitation.
• $150 per hour.
• $50 fee if canceled with less than 48-hours notice.
