NorthSafe Behavioral Change Initiative Logo

NorthSafe Behavioral Change Initiative is a pilot Batterers Intervention Program for individuals who have a history of interpersonal/domestic abuse. The mission of the program is to make Northern Michigan a safer place by providing community programming that offers offenders or potential offenders an opportunity to take responsibility for their actions and change beliefs that allow for abusive behavior.

NorthSafe is currently in a pilot phase and only accepting participants through agency/court referrals.

Program Entry Criteria

  • Entry into the pilot program will be through referral from a partner agency/court.
  • Individual has not previously participated in a DV diversion program.
  • Individual pays initial program fee.
  • Intake is completed through Conflict Resolution Services.

  • Sessions will be held in-person when practical and possible.
